Class of 2016,

Hello to all of our classmates!  It was great to see some many of you in person at the parade for Recognition Day, and those that were able to attend the Gala. Congratulations to our class members who graduated in various levels in the Seven Seals.

Unfortunately, for our class, we have had some changes this year. Cate Whitcomb, who has served as president for many years has resigned.  Also, Kim Lombard, who has been the secretary since 2016 has resigned. I thank both of them for their service to our class. I have volunteered to take the president position and we have had a volunteer to fill the secretary position.

Please pay your class dues on the CLSC Alumni Association website (clscalumni.com).  Dues for the class are $15 per year.  When paying your dues, you will pay the Alumni Association dues, the Guild for Seven Seals dues (if applicable), and your class dues ($15).  (Note:  if you are a life member of the Alumni Association, no dues are needed for the Alumni Assoc.  However, dues are still needed for the Guild and class dues.) Additionally, you may contribute to our class White Gift fund that we use for special projects related to CLSC. This year we contributed $100 to the mosaic restoration project at the Hall of Philosophy. (We received a lovely Thank You note from the committee.)  Our donation to the Young Readers group at Chautauqua, that was made several years ago, still has a small amount of funds to use.  Donation money is being used to purchase their books for the Winifred Kemp Reading Room at Alumni Hall. 

In other business, Recognition Week will be Week 7 (August 2-9, 2025) next summer. The parade will be on Wednesday, August 6. We are planning to have a breakfast item (bring your own coffee!) for you while we are lining up for the parade!  And, we hope we will be able to have another social time during Recognition Week as well.  Many more social events are being planned throughout the season next summer. Please check the Alumni Association website (clscalumni.com) for information of alumni events, as well as our class news – Class News on website under 2016.  Our class will be celebrating our 10-year anniversary in 2026. We are planning on getting new shirts. I will email more information as it becomes available.

Remember that you have until the end of the year to complete the Chautauqua’s Heart challenge, and it was just announced that a new Kate Kimball challenge has been created.  Check the Alumni Association website (clscalumni.com) for further information.

As the 150^th season draws to a close and we reflect on the wonderful literary programming that we have enjoyed this year, I look forward to seeing you next season.
